Non-profit organizations, be they professional/trade associations or charitable groups, have two things in common: they have enormous communication needs and very little, if any, budget with which to accomplish their objectives. They do have, however, a pool of talented individuals who volunteer their time and efforts to help the organization succeed. It is within this group of talented individuals that success lies. Jim Bruno & Associates has years of experience working with volunteers in organizations such as The Administrative Management Society, The International Word Processing Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Sight Savers International. In each situation, budgets were extremely limited. Instead, the talents of volunteers had to be harnessed to compensate for lack of dollars. JBA had to work closely with volunteers and members to help them overcome obstacles created by their diverse backgrounds and work towards a common goal. The results included: putting in place successful membership recruitment and retention programs, launching professional publications to help develop professional skills while producing revenue, and elevating organizational profiles locally, regionally and nationally to aid in fund raising efforts. | |
